I am of head of the research group of Public Security at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and editor-inchief of Tijdschrift voor Veiligheid (Dutch, peer reviewed scientific journal on safety and security). I hold a Ph.D. in Social Sciences and an MSc. in Public Administration.
My research interests are: Fear of Crime; Risk Perception, Risk Communication; Cyber Resilience & Policing. I am interested in research methodology and trained in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
The current projects of my research group is focused on: cyber resilience of children, teens and people with a mild intellectual handicap, cyber resilience of organisations, the role of professionals and organisations in strengthening the cyber resilience of society as well as online harmfull content that puts strain on public values and our democracy.
