I am Dr. Ir. Lisanne Bouten, an associate professor at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, specializing in regional development, innovative entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. My work centers on applied research aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and regional innovation, with a focus on supporting new business activity and strengthening local ecosystems.
Throughout my career, I have led various high-impact projects, including research on the critical success factors for new business ventures in the city of Apeldoorn and the future of retail in several city centers across the province of Overijssel. I have also conducted a longitudinal study on entrepreneurial intent among students, exploring the motivations and drivers that influence their decision to start a business.
In my current role, I am particularly focused on impact measurement and data management, where I develop tools and frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of entrepreneurship programs. My goal is to ensure that regional innovation initiatives are not only sustainable but also measurable, providing clear data to inform policy and practice.
