Lidia Marôpo is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, Portugal, and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences at Nova University of Lisbon, Portugal. She holds a Communication Sciences Ph.D. from NOVA University of Lisbon (2010), where she also conducted
postdoctoral research on youth media audiences (2011-2012), both with individual grants from FCT. Her research mainly addresses the relationship between children, young people, and the media, with a special focus on digital culture in recent years. She has participated in international projects and networks such as COST Actions Transforming Audiences and ySKILLS. She has published her findings nationally and internationally in journals such as the Journal of Children and Media and Communication & Society and publishers such as Palgrave and Routledge.
