Skills: I am a Biochemist with a PhD in Biotechnology, specializing in the development of innovative solutions for environmental and industrial challenges. As a researcher on the REDWine project, funded by the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (grant agreement Nº 101023567), my work focuses on the utilization of biotechnological processes to enhance sustainable wine production through bio-based strategies. In addition to my involvement in this project, I conduct research on bioremediation, particularly focusing on the degradation of hydrocarbons in contaminated environments such as the Barreiro region and the Tagus River banks. My expertise in this area includes the application of microorganisms and biological processes to mitigate pollution. Beyond my research, I am actively involved in promoting science and health literacy, working to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding to foster informed decisionmaking and community engagement.
