Highest degree: Doctorate
Degree name: Earth Resources
Area of expertise: Engineering and technology
Skills: I'm a geophysicist that studies the impacts of global change on the functions of ecosystems.Specifically, I work with:- Geophysical techniques such as electrical resisitivity tomography (ERT), ground-penetrating radar (GPR) electromagnetic induction (EMI), in integrated and/or time-lapse modes, to help build models of mediums such as groundwater, soil, permafrost, in natural, urban, and agricultural environments- Hydrogeological and ecosystem models that (i) support land-use (agricultural and urban) planning; and/or (ii) predict risks related to global changesSince 2019 I've been developing my research at Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal (IPS), mainly focusing on ecosystem modelling and monitoring of the subsurface. At IPS, I'm also engaged in the development of the E³UDRES² European university alliance (Erasmus+ funded) through research activities and through project E³UDRES² Ent-r-e-novators (Horizon Europe funded), on the improvement of the research and innovation strategy of the alliance.
